The detailWe built the load-testing rig as well as the platform: distributed generators sending real message traffic, not idle connections.

Practice: Scale is measured, not claimed

The problem

IoT platforms are easy to demo with a few hundred devices and hard to trust at a national scale. Connection storms, reconnects and uneven traffic break systems that looked fine in testing.

What we built

ThingSphere, Iesoft’s own IoT platform, and the load-testing rig to prove it. We drove it past a million devices connected at the same time over MQTT, with distributed load generators sending real message traffic.

How it works

Devices connect over MQTT to a cluster of brokers. The test reached 1.536 million concurrent connections across six brokers. Beyond 1 Million Connected Devices covers how we ran it.
