A chatbot is a conversational agent programmed to communicate with users through an intelligent conversation in natural language. A smart chatbot can chat with a person and answer queries ranging from a simple customer question to a product recommendation on an e-commerce platform.
We built a personal finance marketplace called MyMoneySouq to help online users choose the right financial product in the UAE. People who visit the platform have many questions while searching for the right product, and often end up browsing many products before they decide.
We wanted to create a conversational experience for those visitors: a chatbot that answers personal finance questions and makes personalised recommendations. Doing that in Arabic is where the real work began.
