Practice: Every number has a source

The problem

Teams running event brokers at scale want to trace a message end to end, but many cannot send telemetry to a SaaS monitoring service.

What we built

SCOPE, a self-hosted tracing tool for Solace brokers. It shows trace waterfalls, dashboards and alert rules, with alerts going to webhooks, Slack or email, and it runs inside the client’s own network.

How it works

An ingest service written in Go receives OpenTelemetry spans and stores them in ClickHouse. The broker side is configured automatically, and a GraphQL API feeds the web interface.
